Old Paris button factory

The owners of this wonderful industrial apartment remodeled an old button factory in Paris. They wanted to keep the industrial feel to it, but at the same time add some vintage elements, woods and delicate glass and porcelain. I like this contrast of hard and soft a lot.

De eigenaars van dit appartement in industriële stijl bouwden een oude Parijse knopenfabriek om tot wat het nu is. Ze behielden de industriële stijl maar voegden vintage elementen, hout en delicaat glas en porselein toe om het geheel wat zachter te maken. Ik hou van deze combinatie van hard en zacht.

Mogens Koch Folding Chair

The Mogens Koch Folding Chair made its debut in 1932 as a tribute to the classic director’s chair. In the Folding Chair, you can see Mogens Koch’s passion for functional design. It’s available in both beech and mahogany and I would like one for in my living room, that’s for sure.

De Mogens Koch vouwstoel maakte zijn debuut in 1932 als een ode aan de klassieke director stoel. Je kan aan het ontwerp van de stoel goed de passie zien van de ontwerper om iets functioneels te ontwerpen. De stoel is verkrijgbaar in twee kleuren en ik zou er echt heel graag eentje in mijn living hebben.

House in the woods

 

I like this home in the woods which was featured on the Design Sponge blog (pictures by Maxwell Tielman). The wood beams and the angles of the roof create strong lines, which is complemented with the lines of the salvaged wood floor that is placed throughout the entire home. The furniture and decoration is kept very basic, to match the black and simple outside of the home.

Ik vind deze woning gepubliceerd door Design Sponge (de foto’s zijn genomen door Maxwell Tielman) heel stijlvol. De houten balken in het dak en de hoeken die het plafond maakt zorgen voor erg strakke lijnen die goed benadrukt worden door de lijnen van de gerecycleerde houten vloer. De inrichting en decoratie zijn vrij simpel gehouden, wat erg goed past bij de simpele, zwarte buitenkant van het huis.

 

Bathroom love

I love these bathroom goodies from The Minimalist store. The marble, the gold mirror, the black and white, everything fits perfectly together.

Ik vind deze badkamer goodies van The Minimalist store echt mooi. Het marmer, de gouden spiegel, de zwart-witte accessoires, alles past zo goed bij elkaar.

Toorak home

This is the Toorak home by Robson Rak Architects. I like the dark floor in the living room, with the big dining table and wishbone chairs around it. In contrast to this dark floor, there are white window sheds, which makes the whole interior a lot lighter. I also like the separate bathtub and the marble in the bathroom, made playful with a little wooden stool.

Dit is het Toorak huis, ontworpen door Robson Rak Architects. Ik vind de donkere vloeren in de living mooi. Zeker samen met de grote eettafel met daarrond de wishbone stoelen. In contrast met de donkere vloer, hangen er witte luiken aan de ramen, wat het gehele interieur veel lichter maakt. Ik vind ook de losstaande badkuip en het marmer in de badkamer mooi. In combinatie met het houten stoeltje is deze ruimte speels en stylish.

Grays

I like the hues of gray that come back in every room of this Swedish apartment. I think gray really is the perfect muted color. It goes with everything, you can combine unlimited tints of gray together and it will always look good since it gives this soft feeling to a room. Other than that I think the kitchen in this apartment is also very interesting with the black cabinets on the bottom and the white ones on the top.

Ik vind de grijstinten die hier in dit Zweeds appartement in elke kamer terug komen heel mooi. Grijs is voor mij de perfecte ‘stille’ kleur. Het gaat met alles samen, je kan ongelimiteerd grijstinten met elkaar combineren en het zal er altijd mooi uitzien omdat het dit zachte gevoel aan een ruimte geeft, wat ik heel erg mooi vind. Buiten het grijs vind ik ook de keukenkasten interessant. Zwarte kastjes vanonder en witte vanboven, dat had ik nog niet eerder gezien en het effect mag er zeker zijn.

Black furniture and white floors

This gorgeous home with white floors and black furniture used to be a diary shop. The owner of the home is an art adviser and often brings art pieces home with her. I think the contrasts in this home is great, and I like that the colors are reverted in the bathroom.

Deze mooie woning met witte vloeren en zwarte meubelen was vroeger en kaaswinkel. De eigenares van dit huis is een kunstkenner en brengt vaak kunstwerken mee naar huis. Ik vind het contrast heel mooi en vind het interessant dat de kleuren omgewisseld zijn in de badkamer.
